Avoid tap water and mineral water—stick to filtered or distilled water. Tap water’s inconsistent mineral content can cause pellets to swell unevenly or deform, even with premium-grade gels.
Hydration Process
Container Matters Use a wide bucket or bowl (the bigger, the better) and fill it with 3-4 times more water than pellets.
Timing & Agitation Stir by hand every 15 minutes. Full hydration takes 2-3 hours. Pro tip: Room-temperature water speeds up the process.
Size Check After 90 minutes, measure pellet diameter. Ideal size for most blasters: 7.3mm. Drain immediately once they hit this mark to prevent over-expansion.
Post-Hydration Care
Draining Use a mesh strainer, gently shake off excess water, then rinse under low-pressure running water to remove residue.
Drying Press a microfiber cloth against the strainer to absorb surface moisture. Never sun-dry—store in a sealed container with 10% residual dampness.
Field Maintenance
Monthly deep-clean: Soak barrel in 1:10 white vinegar solution to remove gel residue.
After gameplay: Drain unused pellets—they’ll dissolve and clog your mag if stored wet.
